Surely you know Marseille soap, or have heard about the soap of Aleppo, but do you really know what is Castile soap?
Castile soap is a natural soap made from olive oil which provides the only fatty element. As you know, traditional soap is obtained from a fatty acid, which can come from coconut, sunflower or any other vegetable oil.
The soap from Castile has hundreds of years of tradition. During the Middle Ages in the province of the crown of Castile, due to the amount of olive trees in the region, it was produced on a large scale. It became so famous that it was and continues to be exported to all of Europe and America.
Until the appearance of detergents in the 1950s, in areas where olive trees were prevalent, it was the soap used for personal and household cleaning. It was handcrafted by the family with the used oil from the household.
As you can see, soap and detergent are not the same thing.
If you want to know what the differences are between these two products, you can read this article that we have published in our blog in which we explain everything.
The pure Castile soap gets its exceptional properties from the olive oil from which it produced. Made with Extra Virgin, it is anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants and vitamins, and in addition, its glycerol content makes it very moisturising. It produces little foam, is dense, creamy and easy to remove.
It is recommended by dermatologists for the treatment of various skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, atopic skin and sensitive skin. It’s ideal for use on babies’ delicate skin.
The handmade manufacturing process does not generate any residue and the product itself is biodegradable.
It’s very versatile, it’s used for cleaning floors, glass, upholstery, skins, wood, pets. It’s perfect for washing clothes, especially for babies and people with sensitive skin.
A traditional multipurpose soap designed to take care of everything you care about.
